This one was a journey! Dave's longtime art director Matt caught me early in 2025 with the idea of creating portraits of each of the band members. He referenced the Jerry Garcia print I made as a possible starting point for the tone and mood of the series. Basically, each member of the band would get their own personal mood board poster. After going and back forth for a awhile mgmt ultimately decided that now wasn't the right time for the portrait series.

Mgmt then suggested a bull image for the Chicago shows and I really tried to lean into the Chicago Bulls nostalgia for this one. I was born in Peoria, Illinois but have lived in Texas most of my life and was reminded how much love the Jordan era Bulls got everywhere around the country. As a child of the 90s that's an era I definitely miss! I still need those insect eye shaped Oakley's Jordan and Pippen wore during one of the championship parades. I was also influenced by vintage firework packaging and Spanish bullfighting iconography and tiling. I'm 20+ years into my art career and I usually get a strong feel on how something should look and try and focus my influences and interests into an original piece.

The four numbers in the corners are tributes to some of the great athletes in Chicago sports history. They are 23 (Michael Jordan), 14 (Ernie "let's play 2" Banks), 34 (Walter Payton) and 9 (Bobby Hull).
