Woody Allen - G1988

$ 50.00

18 x 24 inches /// 5 screens /// S/N edition of 100 - This print was commissioned for Gallery 1988's Woody Allen themed show in January. We all had free reign to make the print we wanted for this and I started by thinking what Woody would have been like as a child. I began writing down character traits and somewhere along the line I noticed parallels to Charlie Brown. They both exhibit nervousness and a kind of physical ineptitude along with an uneasiness around women. There's a sad, neurotic comedy/tragedy feel that I associate with both of them. I purposely illustrated Woody in neat, clean lines to contrast the rougher black cloud above his head. The cloud above him gives us a look at the clutter inside his head, highlighting a few of my favorite quotes of his.
