I began by surveying the architecture and colors that I found attractive in pictures of Mexico City. That was enough to get things started. The elements in the print including the jaguar and the quetzal bird have a long history together in Aztec and Mayan culture and folklore. The feel I wanted in the image is of a hunter and prey. I found it difficult to ignore the happenings in Mexico that are dominating the news and I thought it best to hint at this without being too overt.
