Trey Anastasio - Red Rocks

I've made a conscious effort to change the tone in my post pandemic gig posters. I know people have been through a lot and we're all just happy to be attending shows again. I've seen Ween and Jack White in the last month and know I've missed live shows so much. What I really want to do with much of my new art is to lift people up. I want people to feel some of the JOY (through my art) that we all feel at these live spectacles. I also think about what I would want to hang on my walls in 2022 and I try and create art that reflects that. While I worked on this I thought about Trey's track "Shine" and loosely referenced the feel and tone I heard throughout the music. There's many Easter eggs scattered throughout the print and it's also the first time I've drawn freckles (they are teeny stars up close) on a face before. It just felt right.
