white FOIL - The WHO - NYC - edition of 16

It was honor to be asked by Collectionzz and The Who to create the art for the band's final performance in New York City. My favorite memory of the city is walking through MOMA and finally seeing all the artist's work I'd read about in person. My art is an amalgam of some of my favorite pop artists. The portrait of the girl is meant to resemble a Roy Lichtenstein, the background pays homage to Piet Mondrian and the bubble itself is a nod to Jasper John's target paintings. I also added a clear varnish layer emanating from the bubble that radiates these hypnotic swirls that change depending on what light source you stand under.
